Meet The Artist

A smiling woman with sunglasses is standing outdoors behind a pink surfboard with a whale illustration, leaning on it, in front of a wooden house with a corrugated metal roof, surrounded by trees and greenery.

Lauren Pearse

Lauren Pearse, also known as Loz and working under the name Salty Sketches, is a self-taught artist who began her professional journey in 2019, though her love for art has been present since childhood.

Loz’s creative practice has continued to evolve over the years, engaging audiences through her expressive whale paintings, playful poster art, face painting, and art classes. More recently, she has been expanding her digital portfolio to include merchandise, logo design, and custom posters—broadening both her skill set and creative reach.

Since 2020, Loz has been based in the southwest of Western Australia, where she’s become a familiar face in the community—not only as an artist, but also as a barista at Tiny Coffee. Working in hospitality has provided unique opportunities to connect with locals, many of whom have become clients and supporters of her work. Her local surroundings and community continue to inspire her both personally and professionally.

In 2025, Loz has decided to take her art on the road, embarking on a year (or two) of travel with her creative tools in tow. She plans to continue developing her digital work remotely, expand her merchandise range, and seek opportunities to contribute to mural projects along the way. Her guiding motto: “have paint, will travel.”
